Job overview
An exciting opportunity has become available, for a clinician with MSK experience to join our out-patient MSK team. The post holder will work across all Swansea Bay University Health Board sites of; Neath Port Talbot Hospital, Singleton and Morriston Hospitals to deliver a high quality MSK care. You will need to have completed at least one or two rotations at Band 5 or Band 6 level in MSK out-patient's. Any additional MSK experience would be advantageous.
Main duties of the job
You will work as part of a dedicated team of qualified and support staff. The service has number of referral access routes from self referral as well as primary and secondary care clinicians .The role will involve assessing with triaging and managing MSK conditions. The service offers different modes of consultation of telephone and face to face assessments. The post holder will develop patient centred therapy and rehabilitation through utilising of extensive skills and abilities.
You will be expected to support the delivery of exercise classes and hydrotherapy sessions.
The service offers regular placements to Cardiff University students. There is an expectation for you to be actively involved with overseeing the supervision of students and support Band 5 rotational staff throughout their rotations.
The physiotherapy service has long established links with Cardiff University to support post- graduate learning .
There are opportunities to develop teaching skills via the Swansea University. The service supports the delivery of MSK teaching sessions at the School of Medicine.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- • Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
- • Professional Registration with HCPC
- Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio including attendance at recent postgraduate courses/training
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of experience at B6 level in MSK OP Physiotherapy
Experience
Essential criteria
- Substantial broad range of experience as a Band 5 physiotherapist in an NHS rotational physiotherapy post
- Experience of working as part of a physiotherapy team and/or multi-disciplinary team
- Substantial contribution to clinical education of less experienced staff, students and assistants
- Ability to organize, prioritise and delegate
- Ability to cope with working in a stressful environment and with emotional or aggressive patients or carers

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
