Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Craftsperson (Painter) within the Estates Team based at Carleton Clinic, Cumbria. This post will be offered as Full Time (37.5 hours or 40 hours per week, to be discussed at interview).

Main duties of the job
Our Painter and Decorators provide a full painting and decorating service across our extensive and diverse estate. Our buildings are used to provide NHS services so you’ll need to work to a high standard and safety is paramount.
What you do will make a direct difference to support better care and will benefit patients, staff, and visitors. There’s a real variety in the job too working from top to bottom on our buildings, inside and out.
You’ll work with other teams within Estates and across the company and CNTW to make sure that our buildings are maintained to a high standard.

- Experience as a painter and decorator
Desirable criteria
- Experience of other tasks such as minor building work or glazing
Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Skilled in painting and decorating a wide range of environments
- The post holder must be able to read and interpret technical drawings
- Ability to work in confined spaces as well as at height and in other challenging environments
- Must demonstrate good understanding of health & safety
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- The post holder must have completed a recognised and registered indentured apprenticeship
- Hold a City and Guilds certificate in painting and decorating or equivalent.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
