An exciting opportunity has arisen for a caring, compassionate and enthusiastic  Band 5 Staff Nurse RMN/ RNLD to work  within Neuro-behavioural Rehabilitation Inpatient services on Ward 1 Walkergate Park.  

The service supports individuals who have sustained  an acquired brain injury, and present with a range of physical, cognitive, communication and emotional problems, and who may be exhibiting challenging behaviour which prevents the individual engaging in other specialist rehab environments.  We aim to provide a secure, structured and low stimulation environment that is suitable for people who require assessment and/ or rehabilitation. 

Successful applicants must have a strong commitment to the delivery of high quality, safe patient care.  Applicants should have an interest in working within Neurological care in a  challenging but rewarding environment.  Applicants should have a current NMC registration and must also have successfully completed the OSCE exam.

You will work in a highly supportive team and will be encouraged to access training opportunities to further develop your knowledge and skills.

Act as a Primary/Named Nurse within a multi-disciplinary team, developing collaborative, and needs based care plans, through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.

Provide excellent professional, skilled and effective person centred, evidence based nursing care.

We offer a 12-month Accredited Preceptorship Programme, which focuses on a common approach to preceptorship across the Trust, supporting newly
registered nurses in their first year of practice. It is underpinned by academic evidence (which can be studied at Level 6 or 7) of professional learning and reflection, to support competent practice.

We offer peer support as an integral part of the programme, with senior staff offering pastoral care in dedicated roles.

On commencement, you will receive a robust induction to our service, service specific training to equip you in the role you have applied for, as well as mandatory training including PMVA and ILS.

You will be well supported by the Team through regular Clinical and Managerial supervision, reflective practice and team debriefs, yearly appraisals to support both your personal and professional development.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo standard NHS pre-employment checks, including an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Check.
