Main duties of the job

We are looking for applicants who are friendly and approachable with effective communication skills, who can build good working relationships within a fast-paced environment. The Job Role:  You will provide a comprehensive and accurate administrative and secretarial service for the clinical/medical teams, specifically our Loss Pathway service.  This will include production of clinical letters, e-mail communication, booking/rescheduling patient appointments, accurate data inputting onto electronic patient records system, scanning, printing, uploading, answering of complex telephone queries and the ability to exercise judgement and work unsupervised to meet deadlines.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The successful candidate will be educated to GCSE level with an administration NVQ or QCF or equivalent experience. Excellent telephone and IT skills are essential, with experience of Microsoft Word, Excel data entry, email, and digital dictation/audio typing. Previous experience of working within a health care setting would be desirable as the role involves typing of clinical letters.

To support the Trust’s move to remote working, there will be an expectation for the successful applicant to be able to occasionally work from home where appropriate equipment will be provided. However, the majority of the role will be office-based.

  • Experience of working in a busy office / customer care environment
