Are you a dynamic Consultant level Psychological Professional with experience in providing effective senior leadership of a range of Psychological Professionals within multi-professional settings? Do you have experience of leading large scale service developments or quality improvements with proven impact?

 

We are looking to recruit a Directorate Lead for Psychological Services and Professions for our newly formed Children’s Integrated Directorate, which incorporates CYP Mental Health Services, community physical health services, children’s LD and neurodevelopmental services. This post will be part of the Directorate’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT), operationally accounting to the Director of Operations and professionally to the Director of Psychological Professions. It is an exciting time to join the forming SLT at a time of transformation.

 

Psychological Professions staff are a large part of the workforce, highly valued in the Directorate. Strong psychological leadership is sought to implement a psychologically informed system model with our partners, supporting children and young people to access services using a Thrive informed approach and to bring applied psychological knowledge and experience to senior decision making

Main duties of the job

In this role you will strategically support the delivery of excellent psychological services to children living in Coventry and Warwickshire via the development and leadership of the other established Consultant Psychologists and Psychotherapists in the Directorate and ensuring psychological informed models. You will oversee the governance of psychological practice delivered by multi-professional teams within Directorate services and partner agencies where we provide psychological services.

 

You will be a key influencer within the Trust and with external partners in the delivery of children’s services across Coventry and Warwickshire and engage in a range of local, regional and national fora to support your work. You will drive research and innovation, supporting the promotion of this within and outside the Trust. You will work as part of the Trust Senior Psychological Leadership to deliver on Psychological Professions and Trust strategic priorities including multi-professional working and leadership at all levels of the organisation.

 

Working for our organisation

To be successful, you will already hold a Consultant level position with a Psychological Profession. You will have considerable clinical, managerial and leadership experience and demonstrate highly specialist psychological knowledge about the service areas within the Directorate. You will have a thorough understanding of the national, regional and local context around these services and understand the many points of intersection of these services within the Trust and within our system partnerships. Ideally you will have led on the development of services for children and young people.

You will have excellent communication skills, be highly motivated, able to maintain focus and purpose, and respect and value team working at all levels.

We are looking for someone who embraces preventative, co-production and digital approaches to help us achieve the best possible psychological services for children and young people and their families.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will join a warm, supportive and experienced Senior Leadership Team and group of Consultant Clinical Psychologists and Psychotherapists within the Directorate and you will be well-supported professionally by the Director of Psychological Professions and Services, the other Directorate Leads for Psychological Professions and Services and the wider Consultant Psychologist and Psychotherapists group. You will have regular clinical supervision and be supported to continue to professionally develop.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Doctoral level psychological qualification or equivalent experience with HCPC registration
  • Extensive experience in a senior position
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Specific management and/or leadership training
