Job overview

The role of Local Security Management Specialist within Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust is covers two mains elements of security management; procedural and environmental security of buildings and assets, and supporting operational services in challenging and reducing incidents of violence and aggression. 

Main duties of the job

Develop and implement the Trust’s ‘Security Strategy’ and other relevant policies and procedures.

Provides specialist advice to the Trust on all aspects of security, supporting the delivery of security processes and developing / implementing related policies.  

Be the joint lead for adherence to the Violence Prevention Reduction Standard (NHS England).

Ensure the Trust complies with its statutory health and safety requirements in the context of security, advising and promoting awareness to staff, managers and senior managers on current legislation and best practice. 

Work towards applying a range of sanctions against those responsible for security incidents/breaches to ensure appropriate cases are progressed accordingly.

Lead and promote a positive security and violence reduction culture in order to engender proactive and robust security across the organisation.

Conduct security risk assessments and support senior managers and managers in the completion of local risk assessments, advising on complex risk assessments including service development, S&Q assessments and Estates projects. 

Undertake security investigations into serious breaches in security including theft, criminal damage, serious assaults, and to support the counter fraud specialist in their investigations where appropriate.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Relevant security qualification at masters’ level or equivalent experience within security management.
  • Relevant security qualification at masters’ level or equivalent experience within security management. Professional Occupational Qualification such as Accredited Local Security Management Specialist or Risk management qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience in security management.
  • Experience of investigating complex issues and producing report / findings at a senior level
  • Development and management of risk management and health and safety systems.
