Job overview

It’s an incredibly exciting time at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust. The Board is in the process of “resetting” the Trust direction, which has resulted in some changes to the organisation’s core purpose. This includes ambitions to become a leader in integrated children’s services, and a national centre of excellence for our already established all-age mental health and learning disability and autism services.

Ambitious plans take ambitious people. We have already made significant progress and now we’re seeking an inspirational and experienced Chief Operating Officer to continue the momentum ensuring excellence is embedded from the ground up. This role has executive responsibility for all aspects of service delivery, operational performance, and emergency preparedness. To do this, you’ll have a track record of strategic and operational management obtained at or near Board level in a complex environment.

You’ll join a dynamic Executive Team who are passionate about ensuring the voices of the communities we serve are at the heart of service developments. We strive to make decisions for the right reasons, with a clear focus on financial efficiency whilst delivering outstanding services.

Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills will be essential, and you will influence and engage our stakeholders in the Trust and externally. You will bring your professional expertise and knowledge to the Board and inspire our dedicated management teams.

Main duties of the job

If successful, you will join the Trust at a time which will be career-defining.

You must be creative and have a real focus on partnership working, as we strive to do more with our communities. We can also offer relocation packages to support you to make the move to Coventry and Warwickshire.

Working for our organisation

Not only is CWPT in an exciting state of transition, providing the right candidates with the opportunity to really shape and influence the future direction of the Trust, but we’re also located in a thriving location, right in the centre of the country:

With excellent transport links across the UK, Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull offer easy access to all major cities by train or car.  Coventry is a diverse and vibrant city surrounded by the beautiful countryside and picturesque villages of Warwickshire. There is a wealth of entertainment on offer, including restaurants, museums, galleries, parks, theatres and gardens.

For families wishing to make a home here, there are excellent state schools as well as high-ranking public schools. We also have top colleges and universities nearby, such as the University of Warwick and Coventry University.

We put ‘people at our heart’; this ethos is at the centre of everything we do and how we do it. We care for our staff and colleagues as much as they care for others and offer a wide range of benefits and development opportunities.

We have a clear focus on inclusivity with one of the most diverse boards in the country, have staff networks that meet regularly, and an excellent wellbeing offer for all who work for us.
