Job overview

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced/qualified CIPD HR Practitioner with a special interest in Organisational Development, Attendance and Employee Relations Case Management to join our People Operations Team.

Please note there are two posts available - one permanent and one for a 12-month fixed term.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will support areas of the organisation in all matters of Core HR Advice and Guidance and work collaboratively with key stakeholders to:

  • Provide expert HR Advice, guidance and support on all Employee Relations matters ensuring that case work is managed effectively and timely in line with Trust policies, procedures, and employment law. 
  • Analyse data trends through business intelligence reporting tools to support the development of innovative process and practise as we strive to be a model employer/employer of choice through compassionate leadership interventions.  
  • Providing advice to management teams anticipating and reacting to the implications and changes in employment law and HR practice whilst also ensuring that robust and effective Trust- wide working practices are safely deployed.
  • Work in partnership with managers, business partners and groups to resolve any emerging patterns that may benefit from Organisational Development streams of work to support optimising workforce productivity gains.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Facilitate the effective resolution of a wide range of employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, conflict resolution, performance capability, and attendance management.

You will also be required to support other areas of the People Operations Team such as conducting formal investigations to ensure the correct evidence is available for disciplinary and tribunal hearings, presenting information as and where appropriate, as well as undertaking Workforce projects.

Your role will provide operational Workforce support including advice on Workforce policy, practice, employment law, NHS terms and conditions, responding to changes in employment law, process and practice as they arise.

Your role within Employment Relations will require you being actively involved in the implementation of the Trust’s Managing Attendance Policy including having oversight of compliance against agreed Trust targets, employment law and redeployment process and practice.

As part of your role you will have oversight and line management responsibilities within the Core Advice and Support Team.

You will be required to be involved in auditing compliance against Workforce Key Performance metrics, policies and standard operating practices across the Trust to ensure consistent interpretation and application of procedures to enable corrective action to be taken as/when required.

You will proactively use available business intelligence data available to identify data trends and areas of concern to enable in-reach support to be deployed in the right place at the right time and to mitigate staffing escalation risks.
