Deputy IT Training Manager

Deputy IT Training Manager will take day to day responsibility of managing the team.
Act as a source of specialist advice and guidance on opportunities at both an individual, team and organisational level.
Identify, design, deliver and review training programmes for Trust employees, contributing to the continual development of quality services and best practice.
Provide training input and advice to Information and Communication Technology (ICT) projects for UHCW. This includes business change, benefits realisation and system configuration support
Responsible for the line management, mentoring and support of staff within the Training Team and deputising for the IT Training Manager as required.
Provide training and education in ICT to healthcare staff across UHCW staff as well as those who are external to the Trust who play a key part in patient care by using some of the Trust’s clinical systems. This includes business as usual training, which includes supporting the Trust’s Mandatory Training compliance.

It’s an exciting time to be joining University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire IT Learning and Development Team, with the implementation of a new Electronic Patient Record system you will be influential in the Trust to build competence to our clinical employees in always putting our patients first.
You will support the IT Training Manager to lead the team in delivery of the digital Strategy for the Trust as well as the daily activity of the team.
This is a job share opportunity, normal working days will be Thursday and Friday each week with some flexibility.

1. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure training meets Trust and NHS policies, and legislation where appropriate.
2. Provide expert advice and respond to complex queries relating to ICT training, development opportunities and learning needs, responding in a sensitive manner where required.
3. Analyse and identify training needs at individual employee, departmental and organisation wide level.
4. Responsible for the development and delivery of system training required as business as usual and a result of IT project implementations. This will include both national and local developments and involve liaison with the appropriate System Managers.
5. Responsible for the development and maintenance of innovative forms of training/learning material taking full advantage of all technologies available, including blended learning approaches.
6. Responsible for invigilation, marking and assessment of competencies in order that access to clinical systems is only granted to staff who have demonstrated an appropriate level of understanding.
7. Responsible for the introduction of a one-stop help facility within ICT Training to support users who need additional support to be able to achieve what they need to do using the applications available to them
8. Responsible for managing the development and maintenance of standard procedures and instructions for the delivery of training
9. Deputising for the IT Training Manager as and when required.
