Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated, and passionate registered nurse or midwife to support the Trust’s Pathway to Excellence® re-designation programme. This is an 18-month fixed term position offering a unique chance to be part of a prestigious programme aimed at enhancing nursing and midwifery practice across the organisation. You'll gain invaluable experience working alongside experts in the field and contributing to making a real difference in patient care. The role will allow you to enhance your leadership and project management skills, making it an excellent development opportunity for your career progression.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading communication and engagement activities in preparation for re-designation and the Pathway to Excellence survey
  • Leading the ongoing design and development of the Excellence Ambassador network
  • Supporting the collation of exemplars from practice to be included in the Pathway Standards Document
  • Monitoring and reporting key metrics related to staff engagement, escalating issues to the Pathway To Excellence Facilitator Lead as appropriate

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Applicants must have a strong working knowledge of the Pathway to Excellence framework, including the six standards, and a solid understanding of the Trust’s shared decision-making model that underpins the framework.

Key requirements:

  • Registered Nurse or Midwife with current NMC registration
  • Passion and motivation for excellence in care
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
  • Experience of delivering presentations, public speaking and report writing
  • Ability to inspire and engage others
  • Agreement from your current line manager to support release for the duration of the secondment
