An exciting opportunity has arisen for a static Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapist to join our established supportive Critical Care Therapy Team within UHCW NHS Trust. 

We would also consider a band 5/6 development post dependent on experience for the right candidate.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, forward-thinking Physiotherapist, with considerable Critical Care experience and specialist acute respiratory skills gained within an acute NHS setting, to support our senior clinicians in delivering excellent patient care. You will be responsible for a complex clinical caseload including Neurosurgery, Trauma, Medicine and General Surgery specialities. Daily work will involve assessment and management of patients’ respiratory and rehabilitation needs, from assessment through to discharge or transfer of care, working holistically with colleagues providing Critical Illness Rehabilitation and the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team.

The post holder will have responsibility for development of others, therefore will be required to have previous experience in student and staff supervision and training. You will be working alongside an established Therapy Team to develop more advanced clinical, leadership, teaching, service development and research skills through close links with the Centre for Care Excellence. You will have access to regular supervision and training with opportunities for growth, to support you in your learning and professional development.

The post holder will be required to work core hours across an extended hours service seven days a week, contributing to weekends and bank holidays.  You will also be expected to participate in the respiratory on call rota.

The post holder will:

Manage a caseload of patients within the Critical Care service with varying diagnosis and / or complex needs, using evidence based and client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in a defined clinical setting.

Demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal and team-working skills, and ensure the development of staff and students through the use of supervision, training and appraisal.

Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of clinical practice and service development.
