An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Clinical Fellow to join our Renal Transplantation team at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust. An excellent training opportunity for Nephrology trainees who want to pursue a career in kidney transplantation awaits. You will help supervise the care of transplant patients and participate in the middle grade on-call rota in Nephrology and Transplantation.

Our Renal Transplant team provides full kidney transplant services for adults within the Coventry and Warwickshire region. In addition with patient choice, the unit has seen an ever increasing number of patients being referred for transplantation from outside its main catchment area. Our team provides an internationally acclaimed antibody incompatible kidney transplant service for the United Kingdom and Europe and our transplant centre has been recognised as the largest antibody incompatible adult kidney transplant centre in Western Europe. 

 

Main duties of the job

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • In patient care for transplant patients
  • Pre and post- transplant recipient and donor clinics.
  • 1:7 on call rota for Nephrology and Transplantation at a Specialist Registrar level.
  • To be actively involved and complete a research project in Renal Transplantation in the tenure.
  • will include 6 weeks to 3 months observership at NHSBlood and Transplant, Birmingham, Tissue Typing Laboratories
  • To complete all the modules in the Advanced Renal Transplantation lecture series offered by The Transplantation Society.
