Main duties of the job
The Radiographic Assistant will provide support to the Radiographers, Consultants and Breast Care Nurses within the Unit by carrying out various non-radiographic duties in order to provide an efficient, patient-centred service for Breast Care Unit. |
The Radiographic Assistant will be supported and managed by the Senior Breast Care Nurses within the Unit. |

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
· Preparing for clinics and ensuring the availability of patient information to ensure that patients receive appropriate treatment during clinics.
· Ensuring patients’ data is effectively inputted on to the computer system.
· Effective communication with patients.
· Making patient appointments
· Management of patient information to ensure compliance with information governance.
· Assist as required with clinical procedures within the Breast Care Unit.
· Act as chaperone as required.
· Assisting with stock control within the unit
· Apply infection prevention and control guidance/ policy within the unit.
· Attend appropriate training relevant to role.

Experience and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Experience of dealing with the general public.
- IT skills
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working with patients in a hospital environment.
Qualification(s) and Professional Training

- Evidence of a good general education
- Maths and English equivalent to above level 4.
