The Healthcare Assistant will be an integral member of the ward/department team responsible for the delivery of fundamental care to patients in a safe, caring and compassionate manner under the supervision and guidance of a registered nurse/she must never undertake duties for which he/she is neither qualified nor trained to perform.
The Healthcare Assistant will primarily work within one ward are / Directorate, on occasions to Meet service needs and requirements the Healthcare Assistant will be required to work anywhere within The Trust. The Healthcare Assistant will work under the supervision of a Registered Practitioner.

- Minimum of 3 GCSE Grades A-D must include English and Maths
- Key Skills / Functional Skills Numeracy, Literacy, Communication Level 1.

- Key Skills / Functional Skills Numeracy, Literacy, Communication Level 2.
- Basic IT Skills.
- Level 2 QCF/NVQ Clinical Healthcare Support.
- Level 2 QCF/NVQ Health & Social Care
Experience
Meini prawf hanfodol
- Experience of working in a healthcare environment (at least six months experience).
- Ability to understand the importance of confidentiality and to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Demonstrates good interpersonal skills.
- Able to communicate clearly, verbally and written.

- Has an understanding of infection prevention within a care setting.
- Has an understanding of basic health care requirements
- Has an understanding/awareness of the Data Protection Act
- Acute hospital healthcare experience.
