Hours per week: 37.5 hours per week (working six days)(part time hours available)
Perm/Fixed Term: Permanent
Salary: £29,970 - £36,483 per annum (dependant on experience)

Main duties of the job
- Responsible for the assessment, planning implementation and evaluation of nursing care for a specified group of patients as delegated by senior nursing staff, involving patients and carers where appropriate.
- Acts as a team leader, delegating appropriate tasks and supervising the standard of care delivered by unqualified staff and learner nurses in the ward team.

Experience and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Able to demonstrate clinical knowledge, skills and expertise
- Demonstrates the use of evidence based practice in the implementation of change
- Demonstrates the awareness and impact of clinical governance
- Critical analytical skills
- Undertake wide experience during training in an acute setting
- Knowledge and application of NMC Code of Conduct
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of Research or Clinical Audit
Qualifications and Professional Training
Essential criteria
- RGN/RSCN/RM
- Nursing Degree/Diploma/Nearing the completion of NMC approved nurse training
- Willing to work towards a post grad qualification in specialty

Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria
- Undertaken wide experience during training
- To be able to assist patients to move using appropriate aids on a frequent basis
- To be able to transport patients using wheelchair/trolley or bed on a frequent basis. This will occur for short periods frequently throughout a normal shift and will require moderate effort
- Ability to have positive working relationships
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure to meet required deadlines.
- Experience of using evidence based practice.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
