Job Title:  Fetal Monitoring Specialist Midwife

Hours per week: Part time - 22.5 hours per week

Perm/Fixed Term: Permanent

Salary: £43,742-£50,056 per annum

Please note if you commence in post prior to October 2024, you will be paid in line with 2023/2024 agenda for change pay scales.

Ensure that all midwives and obstetricians providing antenatal care whether on Drayton Ward.

Antenatal Clinic, Delivery Suite, triage, Maternity Assessment Unit and Community undertake the competency test in assessing fetal wellbeing.

Provide teaching and support for staff who need to repeat the competency test.

Lead weekly CTG workshops, maintaining attendance registers to ensure compliance for midwives and medical staff. Disseminate learning which emerges from workshops. 

Take a lead role with the Delivery Suite Obstetric Consultant in developing an audit form for reviewing (on a daily basis) all emergency births i.e.. instrumental and caesarean sections in the previous 24hours to include review of CTGs. Use findings of such cases for reflective practice sessions.

  • Audit and risk management experience.
  • Previous experience in managing/leading change in practice
  • Proficient and broad understanding of CTG interpretation and multidisciplinary training and education.

  • Previous Experience in report writing.

Qualification and Professional training

  • Registered Midwife – BSc or Degree in Midwifery.
  • ENB 997 or equivalent/mentorship qualification evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Fetal monitoring masterclass attendance (physiological CTG interpretation)
