Salary: £43,742 - £50,056 per annum
Please note if you commence in post prior to October 2024, you will be paid in line with 2023/2024 agenda for change pay scales.

Main duties of the job
This exciting opportunity would be perfect for an enthusiastic midwife/nurse, who will work alongside our clinicians, managers and service users to ensure there is a robust approach to monitoring and improving patient safety, clinical effectiveness, patient experience, and risk.
The role involves leading the day-to-day governance activity, which includes; guideline development, clinical audit, review of clinical incidents, alongside clinicians to help identify lessons learnt.
The Directorate Governance team has undergone significant investment to support the Trust in achieving national requirements in Perinatal, Gynaecology and Paediatric outpatient services.
There will be significant peer support available within the team for the successful candidate.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The right candidate will need to be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a driving passion for Clinical Governance and determination to improve quality and safety across our services.
You will need to have good clinical knowledge in midwifery/nursing practice and will have demonstrable clinical experience.
In this role you will support Risk and Governance Manager in all aspects of clinical governance.
You will need to be self-motivated, clinically sound, approachable and well organised. In this key role you will work closely with the multi- disciplinary team.
The successful candidate will receive a comprehensive induction programme and an opportunity to further develop their knowledge and skills in Governance and Risk Management whilst working in a supportive and compassionate environment.

Experience & knowledge
Essential criteria
- Minimum of 3 years clinical post registration experience in Nursing/Midwifery
- Knowledge of clinical governance
- Experience of clinical audit
- Experience of guideline development
- Relevant clinical experience in acute hospital.
- Evidence of implementing change in clinical practice
- Experience in audit and implementing evidence based care
- Ability to assess the work of the team, provide clear constructive feedback to the team in order to maintain and improve performance
- A good understanding of current issues relating to the NHS.
- Ability to delegate authority to people and monitor them against required outcomes
Qualification and professional training
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse/Midwife with current NMC registration
- Demonstrable CPD

- Study at Masters level
