Salary -£43,742 - £50,056 Per Annum

Following promotion within our urgent and emergency care team, we have an opportunity for you to join our department. 

Come and join our ever-expanding team of clinicians here at George Eliot Urgent Care Centre. You will work closely with clinical colleagues to promote good working relationships with all members of the multi-disciplinary team. You will lead by example and act as a role model within the Trust, working collaboratively with colleagues, managers and matrons and ensure effective communication within the team.

You will be required to work as part of a skilled team to support and provide safe, clinical and effective clinical care. You will be expected to provide a holistic, patient-centred approach to planning care and undertake a range of clinical duties.

Join our friendly and welcoming team. We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our CQC rated good Urgent and Emergency Care  department. 

Experience of working in the urgent and emergency care sector is desirable, or a passion to work in a fast-paced environment. The post holder will demonstrate advanced clinical assessment and treatment skills with clear communication and management plans in line with local guidelines. The post holder will engage in continuous CPD throughout their employment and have a willingness to share experience and teaching with the wider team. The post-holder will be expected to undertake all the duties and responsibilities associated with an expert practitioner working within urgent and emergency care.

  • A nurse or paramedic who is an autonomous practitioner and has experience in working in urgent or emergency department settings
  • Experienced in managing a wide range of patients presenting with injury and illness
  • Keen to develop your scope of practice and depth of knowledge and skills

Practice in compliance with your code of professional conduct and within your agreed scope of practice, being responsible and accountable for your decisions, actions, and omissions at this level of practice.

 Practice at a high level of clinical expertise in assessing and diagnosing patients who present to the Adult Emergency Department

Within scope of practice, demonstrates specialist skills, knowledge and expertise in clinical practice managing entire episodes of care for patients with previously undiagnosed and undifferentiated clinical conditions.

Within scope of practice, demonstrates safe clinical reasoning and diagnostic skills, as well as assessing and managing clinical risk.

Ensures that clinical practice is evidence base.

 Within scope of practice, use expertise and decision-making skills to inform clinical reasoning approaches when dealing with differentiated and undifferentiated individual presentations and complex situations, evaluate and modify a range of interventions including prescribing medicines (or dispensing medicines under appropriate PGDs), therapies, lifestyle advice and care.

Is aware of professional limits in clinical skills and knowledge, referring patients on to appropriate specialities as clinically indicated or asking for senior advice where appropriate.
