An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to work within Memory Assessment and Community Dementia Services.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be part of a multi-disciplinary team. The role will involve providing support to qualified psychologists with psychological assessments and assessing patients presenting with cognitive decline, as part of the dementia assessment process.
The post holder will receive regular supervision and support from psychologists in the service. Clinical psychologists within the service have good links with the Coventry and Warwickshire Doctorate in Clinical Psychology course and the service regularly provides core and specialist placement opportunities for trainee clinical psychologists and trainee counselling psychologists.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Alongside assessments the post holder will be involved in supporting and enhancing the development of groups offered by the wider service, which will involve co-facilitating groups with other psychologists and other clinicians from the MDT. There will also be opportunities to assist with audits and service evaluations.

Essential criteria
- Good Honours undergraduate degree in Psychology
Experience
Essential criteria
- Relevant experience in psychological difficulties such as anxiety and depression. Experience of working with people preferably within mental health services
- Experience of working as a member of a multidisciplinary team or within a team environment
- Experience of working and liaising with other professional groups

Desirable criteria
- Car driver to have access to independent means of transport for work purposes and willingness to travel to locations throughout the organisation
