Probationary Period
All new staff to the Trust will be subject to a standard 6 month probationary period, the details of which will duly follow in your contract of employment.

Job overview
Theatre Services at South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust have an opportunity to recruit 2 x full time Band 2 Stores People on 12 month fixed term contracts.
The post holder will be responsible for the monitoring and replenishment of consumables for Theatre Services.: Main Theatres, Day Surgery Theatres, Stratford Eye Unit and Local Surgery Unit Stratford. The post holder must ensure continuity of supplies to end user departments to avoid interruption to work flow, whilst reducing costs and risks associated with inventory.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have previous experience in a store person role within a clinical environment and knowledge of ordering systems and procedures within the NHS, though this is not essential.
You will be required to work under a supervisor and show the ability to work using your own initiative as well as working effectively within a team. This is a physically demanding role involving collection / off-loading roll cages or pallets, marshalling empty roll cages and re loading onto delivery vehicles resulting in effective delivery and put away of medical and non-medical consumables to all departments outlined above.
Excellent communication skills are essential and the successful candidate will need to demonstrate effective time management to ensure strict deadlines are adhered too.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To ensure effective delivery and storage of medical and non-medical consumables to all departments within Theatre services, in line with their requirements.
To Liaise with Theatre Material Management Supervisor and Team Leaders in respect of stock holding to ensure appropriate levels are set and maintained in line with operational guidelines.
Undertake regular stock takes as and when directed by the Management Supervisor or Finance, using computerised ADC methods.
Establish weekly replenishment requirements against agreed stock levels.
To monitor agreed stock levels, investigate any discrepancies or variances and inform supervisors of stock adjustments as required.
Responsible for informing supervisors of ‘stock – out’ situations and take appropriate action as directed.
Responsible for timely internal distribution of goods to all areas of Theatre Services.
To assist in collection / off-loading roll cages or pallets, marshalling empty roll cages and re loading onto delivery vehicles.
Except and receipt stock into area, ensuring appropriate paperwork is completed.
Efficient management of delivery notes so goods can be receipted in timely manner.
Ensure storage areas within departments are maintained to agreed standards, including: Correct clear labelling and adhering to cleaning schedule; Ensure products are stored correctly, appropriate to their nature and use and stock rotation procedures are followed.
Ensure authorisation reports are accurately produced, maintained and filed for reference.
Assist in storeroom re design where appropriate, optimising storage space utilisation, whilst maintaining effective materials management flow.
Develop and maintain a working knowledge of medical and surgical consumables participating in product training sessions as directed by Supervisor.
Respond and resolve product queries, referring to supervisor if required.
Respond to product recalls by identifying any non-conforming goods.
Act as point of contact for clinical staff on product issues.
Communications and Working Relationships
Promote good relationships with multi-disciplinary Team Members, suppliers and contractors.
Promote good relationships with Purchasing materials Management.
