Job overview
Here at CWPT, we value lived experience and the impact it can have in the recovery of the people we care for.
It is why, for the first time, alongside our inpatient transformation we’re embedding lived experience roles across our acute inpatient, and we’re looking for Peer Support Worker’s (PSW’s) to join us at this exciting time on one of our male wards at St Michael in Warwick.
This role is for someone with lived experience of receiving inpatient care on a ward, who feels comfortable using their experiences, empathy and understanding to help others and to inspire hope and recovery. As this role is within an inpatient setting, we are looking for someone who has resilience, great communication skills and willing to utilise and share their lived experiences to support others.
In this role the appointed candidate will take on further training such as their ImROC PSW training and Care Certificate. The PSW’s employed will be supported by the Senior PSW to have supervision and them to safely navigate and thrive in the role. The PSW’s will also work alongside ward teams to help engage and deliver services and promote recovery.
Your impact will be wide-reaching. As well as working alongside a number of multidisciplinary teams, you’ll work closely with the Recovery and Wellbeing Academy, which delivers educational courses and workshops to anyone over the age of 18 living in Coventry and Warwickshire. You will contribute to the co-creation and delivery of these workshops and courses.
