Job overview

If you are a band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurse with post registration experience there is an opportunity to work in Urgent Care Services in Chichester and Bognor Regis Area.

Mental Health Urgent Care Services are looking to recruit Band 5 nurses to a Band 5 to 6 Development post. 

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work in Chichester CRHTT for 9 months and then move to gain experience in Mental Health Liaison at St Richards Hospital at Chichester for a further 9-month placement. The Band 5 nurse will have supervision from the band 7 Team leader/ Team lead.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

CRHTT and MHLT are an integral to our urgent care pathway and ensuring people presenting in crisis or have acute mental health needs receive a compassionate, person-centred assessment and timely care plan whether this occurs in the Emergency Department or ward of a General Hospital or in their own home. The successful candidate will need to achieve agreed competences before being offered a band 6 urgent care practitioner post.

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse with current registration [mental health/LD/Adult], appropriate to the job role.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of MHA (1983/2007).
  • Knowledge of Mental Capacity Act (2005), to include practical knowledge of FACE documentation, DOLS and Best Interest decisions.
  • Child and Adult safe guarding procedures
  • Change management at organising and prioritising their workload.
  • Demonstrate ability to enhance care through evidence based knowledge.
  • Demonstrate professional development relevant to the specific care group.
