Are you a Registered Mental Health Nurse who is interested in a person-centred mental health practitioner role?

If so, our Urgent Care Nurse vacancy in our Haven at Eastbourne District General Hospital could be just the role for you!
The Haven is a 24/7 crisis assessment unit located on the Department of Psychiatry site in Eastbourne, providing an alternative to A&E. The Haven will provide a comprehensive biopsychosocial crisis assessment for any adult aged 18 or over who is not subject to the Mental Health Act. As an Urgent Care Nurse in The Haven, your priority will be to ensure the safety of service users in crisis. You will complete an assessment of the individual's needs and risks, accurately recording and communicating this information and working with the individual to create plans for their on-going care and treatment.
This is a great opportunity to further develop on nurse led assessment and decision-making skills.

Main duties of the job
I am looking to recruit skilled and highly motivated practitioners to join us and develop excellent working relationships with the emergency services who refer people to us.
You will be an excellent communicator, demonstrating empathy and facilitating an inclusive and collaborative environment and assessment to those service users accessing either/both The Haven and CRHTT services with a particular focus on:
Utilising your excellent clinical skills and judgement to assess
Demonstrate an understanding of clinical interventions relevant to care group to include education, care plans and discharge planning

This is an exciting and dynamic role that offers the opportunity for development and implementation of high-quality services. Previous experience of working in acute services , Liaison or Haven's is desirable, although not essential. We offer excellent staff support through clinical supervision and teamwork.
This service is integral to our Urgent Care Pathway and ensures people presenting to acute mental health services receive a compassionate, person- centred assessment and timely care plan.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Mental Nurse
- Mentorship, ENB 998 or level 3 module in teaching and assessing in clinical practice
Knowledge/Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant post registration experience in a band 5 position
- Experience of working within an appropriate care setting or an ability to demonstrate that skills and knowledge are transferable across specialities
- Knowledge of the MHA (1983/2007)
- Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act (2005) and DOL’s
- A working knowledge of a range of therapeutic assessment tools and their application to the Liaison service caseload

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
