Job overview

Are you looking for a role where you can really develop your clinical practice alongside colleagues who also have skills and qualifications in non-medical prescribing and other areas?

An exciting opportunity has arisen within The East Sussex  CAMHS Neuro Developmental Service for an experienced Community Mental Health Practitioner/nurse preferably with experience and skills in working with Neuro Developmental Pathways.  The post is 0.8 WTE, 30 hours within our usual working hours  of M-F 9-5.

The role is predominantly clinical .

We have bases in Hastings, Hailsham and  Lewes CAMHS . You will hold a caseload of complex young people at all stages on the pathway, and also contribute to service development, and advise and support colleagues on neurodevelopmental issues through team meetings and reflective practice sessions.

You will need to be creative and able to manage your own diary. The role includes both lone and joint working. If you enjoy working with young people who present with neurodivergence  and you can manage complex cases  we would welcome your application. You would have access to regular team and individual supervision, and specific designated medical practitioner support and training including QB test training and ADOS training and updates

 

Main duties of the job

Assessing and contributing to the diagnosis of young people referred for ADHD and ASC assessments

Reviewing young people on medication

Contributing to team meetings and multi disciplinary meetings

This post offers the Trust's £4,000 Incentive for band 5-7 Nurses & Practitioners, as well as a relocation package up to a maximum of £8,000 (subject to terms and conditions).

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential criteria
  • Professional Health or Social Care Qualification (ie RMN, OT, NURSE, SOCIAL WORKER)with postgraduate training or experience relevant to child and adolescent mental health or an accredited formal post-qualification training in Mental Health e.g iapt Or Professional Health Qualification ( RGN, Paediatric Nurse, School Health Nurse) with formal postgraduation qualifications in child and adolescent mental health and experience of working in a mental health setting (as student or other), working with children, young people

EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria
  • Significant post qualification experience
  • Experience of risk assessment of & research into suicide and self-harm
  • Experience of working with self-harm client group
  • Understanding of Clinical Governance
