Job overview

We are looking for a highly skilled experienced and dynamic Dietitian to be part of the dedicated multidisciplinary team at Chalkhill Adolescent Mental Health Unit in Haywards Heath, and the Sussex wide and the new innovative Hospital at Home Intensive Treatment pathway.  

You will carry a clinical caseload and use your knowledge and passion for Dietetics to support the development of our service provision to address the needs of children and young people. Your main duties will be to assess and treat, to offer advice and support to the wider partnership network, parents and carers involved in CYPs care. You will provide specialist Dietetics education and training to key acute staff and lead on specialist Dietetics Care Planning. 

The post holder will play a key role in the development of the new Intensive treatment/Hospital to Home Pathway and the introduction of the Eating Disorder Pathway in the Chalkhill Inpatients Service. 

You will receive Clinical Supervision from the CAMHS Lead Specialist Dietitian and receive additional support from the AHP Professional Lead within the wider CAMHS services.

  • To support in the strategic development and evaluation of dietetics in conjunction with the Lead Specialist Dietitian and alongside wider system consideration and collaboration with parallel agencies

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BSc (Hons) Nutrition & Dietetics or equivalent
  • Registration with the HCPC as a Dietitian
  • Evidence of post graduate level study

Knowledge/Experience

Essential criteria
  • Proven and demonstrable experience in Dietetic Practice
  • Experience of working with a variety of patients having varying and complex dietetic needs both in a physical and mental health context
  • Proven record of being able to work in an intense environment with a high level of change and in difficult and at times distressing circumstances
  • Experience of enteral feeding
  • Experience in a clinical area related to the post
  • Experience of both group and individual work
  • Experience of multidisciplinary working
  • Experience of supervising students
  • Experience of multi-agency work
  • Experience in applying a range of assessment tools
