Job overview
We are seeking to recruit a full-time Facilities Assistant (cleaner) to join our team at The Hellingly Centre, The Drive, Hellingly, East Sussex, BN27 4ER.
This is a full-time position totalling 37.5 hours per week, 07:00 to 14:30 each weekday, Monday to Friday mornings.
If you are approachable, flexible, able to work unsupervised and are reliable and if you want to make a positive difference to the experience of people in our care then this could be the perfect role for you.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for self-motivated individuals who can work equally well on their own or as part of a team, to deliver and achieve high standards of
environmental cleaning and prepare meals for service.
We need people who recognise the importance of a clean environment and food safety as well as the importance of adherence to infection
prevention and control standards at all times.
To protect the health and safety of our staff/workers, patients, and those attending our sites, we encourage our workforce to be fully vaccinated
against COVID-19.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to: - vacuum cleaning, damp mopping of floors, damp dusting of furniture/fittings, cleaning of mirrors and internal
glass, sanitary ware, e.g. baths, showers, sinks, toilets, washing of tiled surfaces and paintwork, high dusting of walls and ceilings, floor cleaning
etc.. In addition the role will require some food handling to support the provision of a meal service for patients in our care.
Full training will be provided for the successful candidate.

Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
