Job overview
We are seeking to recruit a Facilities Assistant to join our team to work at both St Anne's Centre and Woodlands on the Conquest Hospital site. You will be working on in-patient wards. Full training will be provided.
The role is for an average of 16.5 hours per week working a fortnightly pattern. Week 1: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evening (16:00 to 19:00). Week 2: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evening (16:00 to 19:00) at St Anne's Centre plus Saturday & Sunday morning (06:30 to 14:00) at Woodlands.

Applicants must have good communication and interpersonal skills, be able to undertake varied manual tasks, and have experience of working within the Cleaning Industry,the Catering Industry and with the public.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for self-motivated individuals who can work equally well on their own or as part of a team, to deliver and achieve high standards of environmental cleaning and prepare meals for service.
We are looking for people who recognise the importance of a clean environment and food safety as well as the important of adherence to infection prevention and control standards at all times.
To protect the health and safety of our staff/workers, patients, and those attending our sites, we encourage our workforce to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to: - vacuum cleaning, damp mopping of floors, damp dusting of furniture/fittings, cleaning of mirrors and internal glass, sanitary ware, e.g. baths, showers, sinks, toilets, washing of tiled surfaces and paintwork, high dusting of walls and ceilings etc.. In addition the role requires some food handling to support the provision of a meal service for patients in our care.
Full training will be provided for the successful candidate.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
