Job overview
We are seeking a Specialty Doctor to join our team in the Worthing Assessment and Treatment community team.
You will work closely with the Consultant Psychiatrists within the team to provide specialist assessment and treatment to service users alongside the MDT.

Main duties of the job
You will be a part of the team comprising of two team leaders, two consultant psychiatrists, a second SAS doctor, nurses, OTs and psychologists.
You will assess new patients, will formulate treatment plans and will conduct follow up reviews. You will have the opportunity to join professionals meetings and complex case and risk panels. You will participate in the MDT meeting weekly.
There is a weekly academic afternoon and SPFT supports candidates looking to undertake the CESR route to consultancy.

The main duties are discussed above. There is however a lot of scope to develop this role. Worthing ATS is a vibrant community team. It supports innovation and we are always motivated to look at Quality Improvement. The successful candidate can be supported to get enough experience to enter a training job or be supported to go through CESR.

Person specification
Essential and Desirable
Essential criteria
- 4 years at full-time postgraduate training or higher or equivalent experience with at least 2 years in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
- Excellent knowledge in specialty
- Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA
- Participated in research or service evaluation.
Desirable criteria
- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
- MRCPsych
- In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice
- Approved under S12 OR able to achieve with 3 months of appointment

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
