Experience & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- • Basic medical degree
- • MRCPCH or appropriate specialist qualification
- • Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
- • CCT in Paediatrics or equivalent (equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC)
- • Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC
Desirable criteria
- • Higher degree eg MSc
Clinical Skills & Experience
Essential criteria
- • Relevant post registration experience
- • Appropriate acute general paediatric clinical skills
- • Appropriate neonatal clinical skills
- • Child Safeguarding Level 3
- • Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) or equivalent
- • Neonatal Life Support (NLS) or equivalent
- • Understanding of clinical risk management
Desirable criteria
- • Experience in other related specialties
Knowledge
Desirable criteria
- Breadth of experience in and outside specialty
Organisation & Planning
Essential criteria
- • Experience and ability to work in multi-professional teams
- • Understanding of: NHS / Clinical governance / Resource constraints
Desirable criteria
- • Evidence of managerial skills: Achievements / Course attended
Teaching Skills
Essential criteria
- • Evidence of an interest and commitment to teaching
Desirable criteria
- Recognised teaching qualification
