Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Midlands Education Commissioning team. We are seeking to recruit a Band 4 Commissioning Administrator.  This is a is fixed term, full time position for 37.5 hours per week. 

We are looking for an individual who can provide a high level of administrative support to the team, with the ability to manage and prioritise their own workload. You will thrive from working within a fast-paced environment.

A good working knowledge of Office 365, and Microsoft Office applications and the ability to manipulate information from a variety of sources is essential. 

Excellent communication skills across a range of stakeholders are required. You will have the ability to deal sensitively with people at all levels.

Main duties of the job

Your role will be to provide a full range of administrative support to the commissioning team, reporting directly to the Commissioning Manager. Your duties will involve:

  • Communicating professionally with all members of the team, stakeholders, and internal colleagues, in person, on the telephone, and in writing.
  • Diary management, organising meetings and arranging travel to meetings
  • Minute and note taking
  • Accurate management and manipulation of databases to support commissioning processes
  • Shared responsibility for a generic email mailbox – managing incoming tasks, prioritising tasks and delegating tasks.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in English and Maths
  • demonstrate 2 years experience in an administrative role
