Job overview

We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and experienced Speech and Language Therapist /Team Leader to lead our Adult Community Speech and Language Therapy Team, supporting transformation, innovation and future developments.   

The post is a permanent appointment, working up to 37.5 hours per week.

The service provides community-based Speech and Language interventions focused on communication and dysphagia. The successful candidate will also provide leadership/management for the voice and Augmentative and Alternative Communications.

The post holder will provide leadership and operational (inc. line) management to members of the Children's speech and language therapy team within Children's Specialist Services, Bradford District Care Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job

To provide leadership and operational (inc. line) management to members of the Children's speech and language therapy team within Children's Specialist Services, Bradford District Care Foundation Trust.

To provide clinical expertise to teams including related to practice, safeguarding and provide support and guidance on complex case management.

To guide and support staff to make sound clinical decisions supporting the delivery of high-quality services.

To work in conjunction with the Leadership Team to implement new service models.

To actively engage with key partners and stakeholders to facilitate effective integrated working across the district.

To lead on defined pieces of work within the service to address key priority areas with the aim of maximising the impact of service delivery on positive outcomes.

To demonstrate the vision and values of the organisation while ensuring the quality and safety of services.

To ensure services are delivered within the available resource envelope and that the need for any additional resource is explained and escalated in accordance with Trust procedures.

Essential criteria
  • Current HCPC Registration
  • Qualified SaLT practitioner
  • Evidence of leadership/management roles within a SALT service
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of further formal management, teaching and/or leadership qualification
  • Evidence of additional qualifications within a high impact area
  • Evidence of Leadership study

Experience
