Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The Yorkshire Centre for Eating Disorders is seeking to recruit a enthusiastic and motivated Band 3 Health Support Worker to join Ward 6 inpatient service, which is part of the CONNECT service.

The ward is a 14 bedded ward offering treatment to patients who are resident in the Leeds, Wakefield, Kirklees, Calderdale and Bradford areas.

The service offers inpatient assessment and treatment for patients with a diagnosed eating disorder.  Working closely with the CONNECT community team to provide seamless care.

Our aims are to manage significant physical risk and to manage this affectively. Offer a variety of evidence based psychological therapies and practical interventions. This will be in the form of individual sessions, and group work, all offered and led by all members of the MDT.
Our care is person centred, and care planning individualised to meet patient need.
You will be responsible for being part of a care team and carrying out interventions with supervision from the clinical team to support patient’s on-going recovery.

If you have experience of working with this client group, or on a mental health ward, or CAMHS unit, and are looking for a new challenge then this may be what you have been looking for.

A period of induction, training and support will be offered. We are keen to hear from candidates who have a genuine interest and empathy in working with individuals with eating disorders and associated complex needs.

The service is committed to individuals own personal CPD and you will be supported through the Trusts supervision and appraisal systems.
Specific training will be provided where necessary.

If you feel you are seeking a new challenge, feel passionate about supporting patients and their families on a journey of recovery, keen to learn new skills and share new experiences, then do contact the service for more information, and a visit would be advisable.

Please note that we are expecting a high volume of applications for this position so this vacancy may close early. We would recommend submitting your application as soon as you can.
