Job overview
The Service Transformation Team is a dynamic team within the National Specialised Commissioning, Health Justice and Armed Forces Directorate of NHS England.
We provide leadership and co-ordination of transformation programmes and projects, to improve quality of care, reduce health inequalities and deliver better value in our services.
We use a data driven approach to identify unwarranted variation and opportunities for transformation and improvement across services and the whole patient pathway.
We work collaboratively with partners to codesign solutions, which address challenges and through quality improvement approaches assist systems make improvements to services for patients and the wider population.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will deliver effective administration support to the team's programmes and functions.
The post holder will:
- Develop and maintain systems which provide high quality programme and administrative support to ensure the team's smooth running;
- Undertake reporting and analyse information and data to improve, inform and support a portfolio of projects and initiatives.
- Convey information through excellent communication skills, with the ability to pull together draft reports, presentations and letters.
- Have excellent time management skills, be able to work on their own initiative to organise and prioritise their own and others workloads.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.
NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you’ll usually need to be paid the ‘standard’ salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the ‘going rate’ for your job, whichever is higher. - Educated to Degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of qualification or significant equivalent previous proven experience.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of administrative procedures, project management or information analysis.
Desirable criteria
- Previously worked in similar position within the public sector.
Skills
Essential criteria
- Skills for communication of complex information and administrative matters with the ability to pull together comprehensive draft reports, data and letters.
- Ability to work without supervision. Able to work on own initiative, organising and prioritising own and others workloads to changing and often tight deadlines.
