Job overview
We are in the process of establishing long-term capability to deliver the New Hospital Programme - the 3rd largest programme on the Government’s Major Projects Portfolio enabling the delivery of NHS’s Health Infrastructure Plan.
Main duties of the job
Leadership:

Represent the NHP as an expert and thought leader for Environment and Sustainability.

Set, own, and lead the delivery of the Environment and Sustainability national level purpose, vision, strategic objectives and plans ensuring alignment to the overarching NHP Strategy which will directly impact the National Healthcare System

- Educated to Bachelors level or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in large and complex organisations.
- Relevant professional qualification commensurate with experience

- Relevant professional qualification commensurate with experience
- Extensive knowledge of environment and sustainability principles, including CSR and ESG practices.
- Significant experience of environment and sustainability strategy development and standards setting .
Skills, Abilities and Attributes
Essential criteria
- Technical expertise in environment and sustainability standards; Net Zero Carbon, whole life building standards; statutory requirements; reference design; industrialisation processes; utilities; logistics; technical and operational standards.
- Leadership, vision, strategic thinking , and planning with highly developed political skills .
- A skilled influencer who is committed to promoting personal, cultural and organsiational development.
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
