The Training Programme Director in Cardiology NW will support the Head of School in the Strategic Development of the School of Medicine.
The post holder will lead on the development of the School’s Recruitment and Retention Strategy and contribute to supporting the School Operational Programme.
The post holder will be a member of the School Board.
Please note this is a 3-year secondment extendable to a maximum of three years, subject to mutual agreement.

Work in collaboration with Head of School of Medicine to develop and implement a Medical Workforce Strategy which supports the recruitment and retention of Haematology Trainees with focus on the regional education programs.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.
NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you’ll usually need to be paid the ‘standard’ salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the ‘going rate’ for your job, whichever is higher. To support the Head of School to ensure appropriate systems for Assessment, Rotational Management, Trainee Supervision & Support and other functions within the school.
To promote or lead work programmes on behalf of the School of Medicine.

- Consultant in Cardiology on the Specialist Register
- Consultant currently working in the NHS in the North West England

- Education Qualification such as Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma or Masters in Medical Education
Experience

- Experience of organising / delivering education programmes / courses
- Considerable experience of working with doctors in an educational context
- Experience as an educational supervisor
- Previous or current appointment as a Leader in Healthcare Education
- Understanding of the workforce transformation agenda
- Experience in recruitment
- Trained and experienced in recruitment, selection and Equality and Diversity in the last 3 years
- Demonstrable track record of delivery in service and education
- Applicants who are doctors require a Licence to Practise
- Clinical Manager Experience

- Previous or current appointment as a leader in healthcare education
