Job overview

The post holder will be an active participant in the New Hospitals Programme, Clinical work stream team, developing robust evidence for a suite of learning resources, shaping communications to socialise learning and develop the evaluation strategy for collaborative learning with our cohort schemes and wider stakeholder groups. 

A fundamental requirement of the New Hospital Programme is to ensure learning gained throughout the programme’s lifecycle is effectively evaluated and socialised back into the programme and wider NHS through a suite of resources, communication tools and academic literature.  

Clinical registration is required for this position.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide expertise in the following area as an Education and Learning subject matter expert 

The post holder will contribute specialist expertise to the robust clinical review and clinical authority sign off processes for new hospitals which will include (not exhaustive list) 

  • Reviewing evidence and formulating reports 
  • Clinical output specifications 
  • Assurance of Clinical Business cases 
  • Review of clinical strategies 
  • Clinical benefits review framework 
  • Ongoing evaluation of physical / clinical / operational / equipment strengths and weaknesses of designs 
  • Workforce modelling 

To search for robust evidence and identify gaps in knowledge to inform clinical design and / or operational standards.  

Contribute to the learning culture in the team to enable iterative plan development to enhance the patient environment in the New Hospital Programme 

Contribute to a clinical best practice network of recent new builds and hospitals that are on the program to share, learn and improve.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Relevant Clinical Professional registration (i.e., NMC/GMC/HCPC)
  • Postgraduate certificate in education
  • Educated to Masters Level

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Expert educator
  • Experience of large programmes and projects
  • Experience of design, build and/or moving a hospital

Skills and Attributes

Essential criteria
  • Strong external communication skills in a politically sensitive environment
