Job overview

Bradford Talking Therapies (  IAPT ) Service is an established, forward-thinking ‘Improving Access to Psychological Therapies’ (IAPT) service, providing psychological therapy for people across Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health problems. 

The role will involve delivering CBT and candidates should hold accreditation with BABCP.  The successful post holder will have completed either an IAPT High Intensity CBT course or a Post Graduate Diploma in CBT.  Previous experience working in an IAPT, or equivalent adult service, would be beneficial, as would further additional training in IAPT approved therapies (EMDR). This vacancy is based within the six localities that cover the Bradford district  locality teams within Bradford (South, City , North  Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven district) 

 

Main duties of the job

Provide evidence based psychological therapy, making autonomous clinical decisions about own professional practice.

Provide clinical supervision, consultation and advice to Lead Psychological Therapists

Assist the Team Manager and Clinical with operational duties and service development, including research and development activities.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a highly valued and fundamental part of what we do.  Our CBT therapists provide disorder specific assessments, formulation, and NICE evidence-based CBT treatment for people with anxiety disorders and/or depression, including groups and 1-1 face-to-face and remote sessions.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Professional background in a mental health or health discipline requiring training to at least first-degree level.
  • Registration with own core profession.
  • Specialist post graduate training to masters level or equivalent in CBT
  • Accreditation from a recognised Psychological Therapy body e.g. BABCP, BACP, UKCP.
Desirable criteria
  • Involvement in innovative clinical practice
  • Experience in applying specialist psychological therapies.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Application of evidenced based psychological therapies relevant to the clinical service.
Desirable criteria
  • Teaching (clinical practice) qualification/certificate.
