Catering Assistant - Retail (Grade A)

Grade A

AGH Solutions is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust. We are proud of our NHS heritage, and proud to be supporting Airedale’s clinical services.

We provide a wide range of services from traditional facilities management and estate maintenance, to sterile services, wheelchair engineering and procurement, to clients both within and beyond the NHS.

Job overview

Are you passionate about customer service, interested in retail and food?  If so, we may just have the job for you in our onsite restaurant.

Following a major investment in our restaurant, we are now looking for additional colleagues to join our restaurant team – full training will be given.

Our Catering Assistant – Retail role is very varied, one day you could be serving breakfasts, and lunch to colleagues, patients and visitors, the next you could be assisting with hospitality for colleagues, to then making our inhouse baguettes, fruit pots or helping to place orders.   The days are busy, but very varied, and rewarding.

Our restaurant is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, so you will need to be flexible, and be able to adapt to change, our shifts vary from 0700-1900, and should you be successful in your application your shifts will be allocated on a 5 from 7 basis on a roster, which will be issued at least 2 weeks in advance.

Full Training will be given, and we welcome applications from those in under represented categories.  We want to make sure our colleagues are a true representative of the service users, and our local area. Training will be initially for 2 weeks Monday-Friday.

Due to the nature of this role you will need to be 18+ in order to fulfil this role.

Main duties of the job

The role of the Catering Assistant - Retail is to carry out all duties to the required standard for the provision of the catering services within the Hospital. To communicate with the Catering Supervisor and Management any problems and potential improvements in providing the service and to work to achieve departmental objectives

Working for our organisation

We are always looking for enterprising and innovative approaches to the way we provide our services. We are a national centre for telemedicine and introduced telehealth to the UK offender healthcare sector and also provide the service to patients in their care homes. Community matters to us and we are supported by 400 dedicated volunteers and have strong links with Bradford University, Craven College and Leeds City College to ensure we inspire the workforce of the future.

We want to attract staff who embrace our behaviours of compassion, a commitment to quality of care and working together for patients – we want to make these part of our DNA.
