We provide a wide range of services from traditional facilities management and estate maintenance, to sterile services, wheelchair engineering and procurement, to clients both within and beyond the NHS.

Job overview

This is an exciting time to join our Retail Catering Team as we go through a period of change, and with this change, we are looking for additional colleagues to join the team on a fixed term basis, to support with our mobile retail trolley service, and our fruit and veg stall.

 This is a varied role, where you will be visiting our inpatient wards, with nutritional snacks, drinks, and sandwiches, as well as offering the service to colleagues throughout the Trust and AGH Solutions, the trolley service has proven a great benefit to patients and colleagues and is highly asked about, and gets people talking when you are in the area!  Think an airline or train trolley but in Airedale!  You will also be covering our Fruit and Veg stall when the trolley is not out and about the hospital.

 You will be selling items to our service users, and colleagues, this role will involve walking and pushing a  retail trolley and standing at periods of time.

 Shifts will be allocated at least 2 weeks in advance, and will typically be 5 hours between the hours of 0900-2000.

Due to the nature of this role you will need to be 18+ in order to fulfil this role.

 

 

 

Main duties of the job

The role of the Catering Assistant - Retail is to carry out all duties to the required standard for the provision of the catering services within the Hospital. To communicate with the Catering Supervisor and Management any problems and potential improvements in providing the service and to work to achieve departmental objectives.

This position is not currently eligible for a certificate of sponsorship in line with Home Office guidance as it does not appear on the skilled worker visa occupation list.

Experience

  • Previous experience working with the public/customers
  • Working to schedules, procedures and deadlines

  • Previous experience of working in a hospital/healthcare/care home environment
  • Previous experience of complying with Health and Safety regulations
