Our Catering Team within AGH Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, are now looking for caring, committed, and flexible colleague to join Catering Team in the new and exiting role as Cook, working within our restaurant.  Our restaurant is open 365 days a year.

 You’ll be working alongside our chefs, supporting them in delivering meals for our colleagues, visitors and patients.  You will be cooking homemade meals, and assisting with food prep.

 We welcome applications from all, and aspire for our workforce to be a representation of our demographic and service users. 

 Due to the nature of this role you will need to be 18+ in order to fulfil this role.

This position is not currently eligible for a certificate of sponsorship in line with Home Office guidance as it does not appear on the skilled worker visa occupation list.

If your visa expires or there is a change in status during your employment, the Trust will be required to review your employment which may result in the termination of your employment to comply with the relevant immigration legislation

 

Main duties of the job

AGH Solutions Catering Department is committed to providing a high quality standard of service to all of its patients and customers.

The role of the Cook is to assist the Chef to produce meals at the required times in line with the catering Service Level Agreement, ensuring that the food produced meets the nutritional requirements of the patients

In line with Food Safety legislation ensure the provision of a safe, hygienic environment in the catering areas

To communicate effectively with teams, work colleagues, and visitors throughout the process of delivery of the service and at all times respecting dignity and confidentiality.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Must have sound numeracy and literacy skills
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Cookery or City & Guilds 706/1/2 or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous catering experience
  • Good knowledge and understanding of allergen management
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience in production of special diets
  • Previous experience of working with the public/customers
  • Previous cook in a healthcare/hospitality/education setting

Skills/Competencies

Essential criteria
  • Ability to plan and organise own workload to a high standard
  • Able to communicate effectively
  • Able to use own initiative

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrates an understanding of Confidentiality, Dignity and Respect
