AGH Solutions has one vacancy for a Shift Porter working across seven days a week, including bank holidays, across an alternating 12hr shift pattern

Main duties of the job

As a Porter you will be do the fetching and carrying of supplies, furniture, blood, samples, the pushing and pulling of waste bins, laundry cages, and most importantly the careful, compassionate and sensitive movement of patients around the hospital.  All these tasks are vital to making the hospital run smoothly.  This is a physically demanding role, you will be on your feet for many hours of the day.  This is an enjoyable and rewarding job that makes a real difference to people’s lives.

Applicants will be expected to perform the porter role in all relevant departments (Pool room, Post room, Emergency Department, Operating Theatres, Radiology, Acute Assessment Unit, Pharmacy).

You must have excellent communication skills and have experience of dealing with a diverse cross section of the community.   You must be ready to provide a professional, courteous and flexible Portering service, and align yourself to the Trust’ core values:
