Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to work within the Diabetes Team to provide reception and admin duties.
The post holder will be required to assist in the delivery of a comprehensive reception service to support medical and nursing staff within the specialty. The post holder will undertake audio typing/word processing along with the distributing and filing of documents. The post holder will also answer telephone enquiries, assist in the co-ordination of waiting lists and welcome patients and visitors to the Diabetes Department.
6 month Fixed Term Contract - 30 hours per week
Main duties of the job
Arriving patients
Booking onward transport
Collecting medication from pharmacy
Answering 2 x telephone lines
Processing inpatient referrals and assigning a caseload
Processing e-consults
Emailing GPs
Scanning documents
Making community appointments and sending out letters to patients
Adding patients for triage
Checking stationary stock levels
Generating and sending out blood forms after clinic appointment
Booking in notes
Filing and sending notes back to medical records
Processing notes requests from other departments
Back filing in medical records
