We are recruiting for 111 Health Advisors for our Wakefield Call Centre.

This is an exciting time to join 111 and we have a variety of rota’s to choose from with training courses planned every month.

You do not need any experience in healthcare as full comprehensive training will be provided, however you do need to be dedicated to caring for all our patients and be able to work out of hours as this is essential.

We have a variety of full and part time rota patterns.  This really is an great time for you to be part of the NHS 111 team and wider remote patient care experience.  Full time training for the role is 11 weeks.

Training

You will commence your role on a training contract until successful completion of your training, following this you will then be moved onto a permanent contract.

Main duties of the job

This is an opportunity to join one of Yorkshire's most successful 111/Integrated Urgent Care Providers (IUC). At Yorkshire Ambulance Service you will be part of a highly skilled and dynamic team based in the heart of Yorkshire and home to one of the UK’s most diverse communities.

111 Health Advisors are highly trained to assess and negotiate to ensure the best patient care and outcome - no two calls will be the same.  We work around the clock receiving 111 calls from patients who need our help. It is an incredibly rewarding role that allows you to really make a difference to our patients lives.

The role will be demanding, and this role may not be for everyone, you will be dealing with a wide variety of patients including some very emotional situations. Successful candidates are required to have the skills to deal with the variety of patient calls in a compassionate, professional way. You will also use your strong customer service skills to deal with complex and sensitive information to ensure the right level of care for our patients is sought.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

We have vacancies at our Wakefield Call Centre's on a mixed rota pattern covering 24/7,

You can expect to get the best paid training and support as a part of the YAS family, access to development opportunities, competitive pay with out of hours enhancements (paid in addition to the salary listed), NHS Pension and other NHS money saving benefits for example, access to discounts in over 200 stores, days outs and restaurants by signing up to a Blue Light card.

You will be expected to work six out of eight public holidays as well as three weekends out of five. 

Competitive minimum hourly rate of £11.66 rising to £12.44 after 2 years

You will receive enhanced Pay for unsocial hours worked – unsocial hours are any hours worked on weekends or between the hours of 8pm and 6am.  At Band 3, the enhancements are: all time on Saturday (midnight to midnight) and any weekday after 8 pm and before 6 am (£15.75 p/h) or all time on Sundays and Public Holidays (midnight to midnight, £19.71), after 2 years with weeknights and Saturdays £16.80 p/h and Sundays and BH £21.03 p/h
