Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a full time Ward Clerk for the Acute Frailty Unit which is a short stay ward comprising of a multidisciplinary team of Geriatricians, Nurses, Therapists and Social Workers who rapidly assess, diagnose and manage the complex needs of frail patients.

The successful candidate will have experience of using windows based PC applications, be customer focused and committed to providing an outstanding service to our patients and staff. We are looking for a candidate to work within a existing team, and to have experience of working with the general public in an administrative role preferably within a healthcare environment. You will be responsible for a wide range of administrative support to in-patients and clinical teams. The post is for 37.5 hour worked over 5 days. The successful candidate will start on point one of the salary scale unless able to demonstrate previous NHS experience.

 

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for a wide range of administrative support to in-patients and clinical teams, ensuring everything is in place to facilitate the smooth running of a busy ward. Taking telephone calls, liaising with other departments, patients relatives, GP surgeries and referring hospitals is key part of this role.
