The opportunity has arisen for an Business Manager to support the Endoscopy team within the Surgery Division's GI Unit. Whilst also building key relationships with a variety of colleagues across the trust, this role will allow the successful candidate to develop their existing leadership skills.

Main duties of the job
In collaboration with the Clinical Lead, Senior Nurses, and Operational Manager the post holder is responsible for supporting all activities and services provided by the Endoscopy Team, supporting the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective provision of services to patients and clinicians.
The post holder will manage, maintain and develop admin services within Endoscopy, encompassing all modalities, that which underpin clinical and business performance including clinicians, secretaries and clerical staff, developing the team in order to provide an efficient and effective service.
They will oversee the monitoring, validation and reporting of performance targets including DM01 and access to Endoscopy Services, including long waiters.
They will maintain oversight of reporting volumes within the Department, escalating as necessary.
They will plan, oversee and delegate tasks within the admin team regarding the progression of Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) capacity in conjunction with the Operational Manager.
They will be required to liaise with the Head of Service, Lead Clinician, Senior Sister and Operational Leads across the Division and senior staff from departments such as Organisational Development and People, Finance and Procurement and Transformation to ensure a seamless administrative pathway for the patient through Endoscopy.
To provide support for all administrative and operational processes associated with JAG requirements and JAG accreditation.

Education and qualifications
Essential criteria
- 5 GCSEs or equivalent including grade C or above in Mathematics and English
- Advanced keyboard and IT skills to include Excel, Word & PowerPoint
- South West Endoscopy Training Academy (SWETA) Endoscopy Administrative and Clerical Training Programme qualification (Administrative Workforce Competency Framework) or equivalent experience.
Desirable criteria
- Leadership Qualification
- NVQ in Business Administration or equivalent experience.

- Demonstrable experience working as a highly effective team leader
- Evidence of formal management development
- Ability to handle sensitive information without breaching trust or confidentiality
- Previous experience of effectively leading and managing staff including performance and absence management
- Experience of managing challenging/conflict situations
- Experience in all aspects of staff management, including leading and required human resource procedures
- Experience of working across departmental and organisational boundaries to deliver specific targets and to improve services
- Experience of working in an administration management post of a minimum of 2 years
- Able to work to deadlines
- Flexible approach to change management and problem solving as well as lead change management processes
