Job overview

An opportunity has arisen to join our Arrhythmia Nurse Specialist Team at Salisbury Hospital. We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and committed Senior Cardiology Nurse with a passion for improving the experience and clinical outcomes of our patients, and who inspires others to provide excellent patient care. 

This role can be a trainee position depending on experience.  It will be predominantly outpatient based providing clinical assessment and diagnosis of suspected arrhythmia and planning long term treatment.  This will be supported with MDT when required.  

This role also incorporates the outpatient DC Cardioversion service and pre assessment and support for patients with complex devices or requiring Cardiac ablation.

As an Arrhythmia Nurse you will deliver a comprehensive support service for patients suffering from cardiac arrhythmias ensuring evidence based individualised care, support, and education.

Education, Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria
  • Mentorship / teaching and assessment qualification
  • Evidence of post graduate study
Desirable criteria
  • Post graduate qualification in history taking and patient assessment
  • Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification
  • Arrhythmia module
  • ECG interpretation course

Experience

Essential criteria
  • At least 2 years experience at band 6 within Cardiology
  • Evidence of continued professional development related to cardiology
  • Evidence of leadership skills and service development
Desirable criteria
  • Experience within Arrhythmia management
  • Experience performing DC Cardioversion
  • Experience with Complex Devices

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of evidence-based practice
  • Appreciate the accountability associated with advanced clinical roles
  • Excellent communication skills: interpersonal, written and verbal
