Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team in Endocrine.

We are looking for an experienced, motivated and committed Endocrine Specialist Nurse  with a passion for improving the experience and clinical outcomes of our patients and who inspires others to provide excellent patient care.

We are looking for a nurse who has experience of working autonomously in  outpatients, undertaking endocrine tests and playing a key role in education of other healthcare professionals.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will lead in the development and delivery of a high-quality specialist nursing service for patients with endocrine conditions as part of the multi-disciplinary Endocrinology Team at Salisbury Foundation Trust (SFT).

The successful candidate will work autonomously in outpatients, supported by the medical endocrine team, to provide face to face and telephone consultations to patients with a range of endocrine conditions, particularly those with thyroid disease but over time extending into other areas. Using advanced decision-making skills, and collaborating with the medical endocrine team, the post holder will arrange and undertake endocrine tests as required. They will also have a key role in delivering education to other health care professionals focussing on all aspects of endocrine disease.
