Job overview

The Histopathology Department at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit an IT support assistant as part of an exciting development opportunity involving the implementation and delivery of multiple new IT systems.

We are looking for someone who is committed, self-motivated and enthusiastic.

This post holder will support the department IT lead, Pathology IT and Laboratory Manager, assisting with training, implementation and troubleshooting of IT systems. Systems include the laboratory information management system (LIMS), digital pathology and other laboratory based solutions.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE Grade 4/C or Level 2 English GCSE Grade 4/C or Level 2 Maths
  • Previous experience working in a role that involved IT
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working with NHS lab IT systems

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Has experience of working in an environment governed by strict protocols and procedures.
  • Has admin experience
  • Experience of working within a team and independently
  • Experience of teaching or training
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in a Histopathology lab

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Excellent IT skills, with experience of Microsoft Office/ Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to liaise and communicate with all grades of staff and professional groups
Desirable criteria
  • Used lab IT systems
