Job overview

Previous applicants need not apply

Join us in shaping the future of our health care system. The programme requires experienced staff to head up workstreams both clinical and digital such as Maternity You will need to have experience in the related workstream. You will remain on your current band.

We are committed to developing and deploying an Electronic Patient Record (EPR) for Acute Hospital Alliance ( Royal United Hospital - Bath, Great Western Hospital , Swindon and Salisbury NHS Trust, and are excited to announce secondment or fixed term contract opportunities to join the programme as an EPR Workstream Lead.

We are looking for a team of people with either AHA - specific organisational knowledge and experience, or people with previous experience of implementing an EPR. Most important is your enthusiasm for digital, and you will receive the technical training required to be successful in your role. A team with a balance of EPR implementation experience and AHA(GWH, SFT and RUH) knowledge is the key to the programme's success.

We welcome applications from those who would like to join the programme team full time as well as those who would like to combine a fractional role in the team with work in their existing area. All internal staff interested in applying should gain agreement from their line manager first. Roles are available across AHA (GWH, SFT and RUH). Successful applicant (GWH, SFT and RUH will be able to remain within their home trust.

Main duties of the job

Though all 3 trusts will be moving onto Badgernet to support the Maternity elements of a clients journey within the next 12 months, the shared EPR will manage all the other pieces not included within Badgernet. This includes Patient admissions, Outpatients, Prescribing, placing orders..etc.. and will need to integrate with Badgernet to ensure safe journeys through all parts of our trusts.

Because of the timing of the Badger net implementations we are looking for a Midwife or experienced Operational/Project Manager to help ensure our Midwives are included and understand the differences in this part of their transformation. It will be challenging aligning the separate projects, and ensuring the midwives voices are heard within all the clinical workstreams for the shared EPR.

This is a key role, are you ready for the challenge?

Working for our organisation

We will expect your values and behaviours to reflect the Values of the organisation depending on where you are based: Service, Teamwork, Ambition, Respect (GWH), Person Centered and Safe, Professional, Responsive, Friendly, Progressive (SFT) and Everyone matters, working together, Making a difference (RUH).

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Leading a central workstream in developing the processes and system design for their agreed area of scope.
  • Coordinating workstream activities to ensure alignment across the 3 sites and other workstreams, identifying interdependencies and assigning mitigating plans where appropriate/required to ensure the plan remains on course for delivery within the agreed timeframe.
  • Ensuring systems and processes of the new EPR and integrated care systems are embedded into operational and clinical This will require the postholder to have a detailed understanding of service requirements, benefits realisation opportunities afforded by the new EPR and be able to contribute to local and AHA policy and protocol development to ensure both service and implementation needs are met.
