Maternity Support Worker for Education

Job overview

The primary role of the Maternity Support Worker is to assist, support and work in collaboration with the midwife and the wider multidisciplinary team, to provide a safe and holistic approach to person-centred care. As a maternity support worker for education, we are looking for an experienced MSW to work alongside the midwifery team to ensure MSW staff are always providing excellent standards of patient care, which will include taking responsibility for the clinical areas, stocking and maintaining essential equipment.

Main duties of the job

You will provide support to existing and new maternity assistants and maternity support workers and provide ongoing learning opportunities.

You'll be an integral part of the Maternity Education Team, whose main focus will be to expand on the education and learning experience of maternity assistants, maternity support workers and other non-clinical staff.

As a natural people person you will excel at being responsible for participating in the recruitment process, organisation, and support during induction programme for newly appointed staff, support the completion of the Care Certificate, as well as ongoing development of existing staff as per the MSW Career Framework.
